ASPT is the second oldest certifying agency of Phlebotomy. Although testing and certification is one of the organization's most valuable function, The society provides materials and phlebotomy continuing education, home study, and membership newsletters, develop cross-training programs and approves training programs and their instructors for various programs. The organization tries to give health care professionals more of a sense of professionalism which helps them fell more confident in their duties and that feeling reflects back on the lab.
The Association was founded by Diane C. Crawford for the purpose of establishing a professional standard and code of ethics for this important group of health care specialist. From the beginning.
