How do I access my books?

Once you enter your course in Canvas, go to the Modules section.  Your e-book will be accessible either:

• From the Course Information section, where you will find the link to the eTextbook(s) within the “Bookshelf”. Simply click on that link and follow the directions to access the eBook(s). 

What are the benefits of using an e-book?

E-books are generally recognized as more portable, more cost effective, and more accessible than traditional print texts.  The latest e-books also host enhanced study features designed to aid in effective student learning strategies.  Check out our guide to using advanced learning tools from within your VitalSource Bookshelf.

Can I download a copy of my textbook to read offline?

In many cases, the answer is yes.  First, you will need to access the Bookshelf app from an ebook in Canvas:

Then, follow these instructions for downloading an ebook once you have downloaded the VitalSource bookshelf app.

You will need to download a copy of the book to your local device while enrolled in the course if you want to retain a personal copy after the course ends.
